I believe in being kind, taking responsibility, and accepting the diversity in others. I am a mother of two sons and "auntie" to many nieces and nephews. I enjoy spending time with my family, engaging in outdoor activities such as camping and fishing; as well visiting location throughout California to learn about diverse cultures. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Science with concentration in History, Geography and Anthropology. I am currently a Single Subject Credential student at CSU Stanislaus and student teaching in Merced, at El Capitan High School under cooperating teacher Mrs. Birmingham. I have a knowledge of my content, a love for students, and a willingness to continue to learn. Born in Texas, I spent a large portion of my life as a child relocating from one state to another however, I call California home. I have lived in the Central Valley for the last 25 years and made my residence here in Merced the last 10 years. I look forward to a future where I can give back to the community. I will strive teach our youth not only history but life skills that will prepare them for a career, higher education, vocational training, and being contributing members of society. I value the connectedness we all share and hope to be an example to others that acceptance of our differences is of great importance in our diverse world.
